8 = always on
Mepa8 is a free daily news site for medicine, EMS, public health and wellness. We cover what changed: recalls, approvals, new data, big announcements and the stories behind them. Turn the 8 on its side and it is infinity. Health news does not stop when a shift ends, and neither do we.
Masthead
Ryan Bolden, founder and editor. EMS professional, based in Sacramento, California.

Medical review: we are adding a clinical reviewer. Until then, each story says "Medical review pending".
Editorial standards
Every story is built from primary sources: FDA and CDC records, peer-reviewed research, government data and statements from the people involved. We link each source so you can check our work.
We say plainly what the records do not tell us. We do not run paid placements or sponsored stories. Mepa8 reports news; it is not medical advice.
How we check facts
Every number, date and quote in a story is checked against the source it came from before we publish. When a source is unclear, we say so instead of guessing.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and add a dated note at the end of the story saying what changed. To report an error, use the contact form.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help gather records and draft stories. A person checks every number and quote against the sources and edits every story before it is published. Each story says how it was made.
AI search engines and assistants may read Mepa8 and learn from our articles. We ask that they cite Mepa8 and link the story.
